It's a hundred years since Dorothy Gale, Button-Bright, Polychrome, and the Shaggy Man journeyed down THE ROAD TO OZ to attend Princess Ozma's Royal Birthday Party! And you are cordially invited to come celebrate the centennial of THE ROAD TO OZ.
Come join us for an in-depth presentation on L. Frank Baum's 1909 fairytale ..THE ROAD TO OZ... Is the book a plotless and pointless mess or a wonderfully crafted "perfect" Oz book? Perhaps it's both! We will also take a close-up look at John R. Neill's extraordinary illustrations for THE ROAD TO OZ - surely Neill's most beautiful Oz work. And you can see a ten-minute ballet based on the early chapters of the book.
Award-winning Oz author and illustrator Eric Shanower will talk about his new Oz Series from Marvel Comics.
L. Frank Baum Scholar, Michael O. Riley will present an in-depth look at his beautiful and collectible Pamami Press L. Frank Baum titles.
Peter Maresca of Sunday Press Books will show and discuss his stunning new full-size- full color edition of QUEER VISITORS FROM OZ.
Virginia Hawthorn will delight all with a presentation of little-known Oz music.
We will also have a challenging panel on OZ AS INVESTMENT. Is there such a thing? Is buying Oz a good investment in shaky financial times?
Bring books to sell or trade. Buy a new treasure in the Winkie Auction. Bring your best find ever for the Collector's Round Table.
Come play everyone's favorite Oz trivia game - I.Q. - O. Z.
You can search for trinkets and clues in the brand-new Winkie Treasure Hunt. Get all dressed up for the Costume Contest!
Challenge yourself by taking the Winkie Quiz.
Swim in Asilomar's pool and walk on the beautiful beach!
So Welcome! And please join us in Pacific Grove this Summer!
