I just discovered that TNT will again be showing The Wizard of Oz (1939, Judy Garland, and Toto, too) over the holiday season, starting next weekend. I was watching UP and got a feeling of Oz during the movie. When Carl's house is going through the storm he falls asleep and then wakes up to see a beautiful country called Paradise Falls. That really reminded me of Dorothy in her house and waking up in Oz. Then Russel (the Asian kid) had balloons tied to him and was using a leaf blower to ride on in the sky...that reminded me of the Wicked Witch Of The West.

It led me to think that Disney might do a good job making an Oz...

Mike Ploog in Oz

I've been reading the book Modern Masters Volume 9: Mike Ploog. In it, the artist speaks about his graphic version of The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus and his conceptual work on the 1985 Return to Oz. Regarding the latter, he states that
